s(and) Artist Collective and Exhibit 208 is pleased to present, TONDO, a group exhibition of new works by s(and) artists.

For centuries, artists have explored the circular format of the tondo – from the painted mythology of ancient Greek kylix, the circular Italian religious paintings of the 15th century, to reliefs, sculptures, and architectural elements found on pediments and arches.

TONDO presents a contemporary exploration of this ancient format by 13 women artists in the s(and) Artist Collective. This diverse body of work comprises paintings, wall works, sculptures, and photography re-interpreting and expanding on the format and history of tondo painting and sculpture.
